  1. Since 2013 the Day of Tears Touring Company has been telling the story of the ‘Weeping Time.’ Using the work of Julius Lester we have performed in Connecticut and Massachusetts. My role in the story of the ‘Day of Tears’ is Frances Butler.
    AND then, suddenly…
I simply came across Dwesi DeGraft-Hanson’s interview in the Savannah Morning News of March 3/2021. I was so excited! It was well past midnight but I texted my director anyway! She had to read, AT ONCE, the article I was sending to her telling of the project to preserve and commemorate the lives of those enslaved on the 15 acres of the original Butler estate.
We in Hartford, Connecticut work tirelessly to bring this little-known event to life. And there, unexpectedly, was this wonderful link to other like-minded people!
It would be wonderful to find ways to support your work and to share ours with you!
